Biography: 

(1908–91), social worker, anthropologist with extensive field
work studying Garvey movement in Harlem and its relationship to group of black Jews, Ojibwa nation in Ontario, race relations in Brazil; daughter of Joseph Schlossberg, cofounder, longtime secy.-treas. of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America; field rep., consultant, FEPC (1941–45); conducted investigations in Southwest in preparation for 1944 FEPC hearings; wrote many works in anthropology on Native Americans, race relations, Latin Americans in Southwest, anthropology of education; prof., McMasters U., Ontario (1965–91). Born in N.Y.; PhD, Columbia.
